SLR Engineering is an image processing company founded by Oliver Sidla who has more than 18 years experience as researcher and engineer in the field.

SLR Engineering offers the following services:

Software modules for security, safety, and traffic management

  • object detection and tracking (pedestrians, faces, license plate & ID reading, cars, motion analysis)
  • intellectual property in the form of robust knowledge about how computer vision can be used in real-world applications
  • customer specific applications

Machine vision, robotics and industrial inspection

  • design and integration of machine vision systems for inspection and quality control with LabVIEW
  • customer specific applications

Setup, management and co-operation in national and international research projects

  • SLR Engineering has successfully applied for national and international research grants.

What we do better

Most surveillance systems today use simple methods like background modeling and image differencing, dealing with pixels, not with objects. The video analysis methods implemented by SLR Engineering in contrast use algorithms which are capable to learn, adapt and detect objects in a smart way. Our software represents the state-of-the-art in research and can be used in situations where other commercial systems fail.

What is your benefit

  • Reliable detection even with bad image quality
Detection and tracking is reliable in all weather conditions and lighting situations. Rapid changes of sunlight and shadows, rain and snow have little impact on the detection capability of our video analytics modules.
  • Flexible detection independent of camera motion and viewing angle
The SLR Engineering video analytics can be used in scanning systems, in PTZ (pan, tilt and zoom) cameras and for cameras which are mounted on poles exposed to vibration or shake.
  • Intelligent and dynamic software
Our systems are almost configuration free, a setup can be done within 3 minutes; less service is needed and installation and adaption of a system can be done by semi-skilled personnel.
  • SLR Engineering software is built from modules and independent of specific hardware
It is simple to port our software modules to customer-specific systems or operating software. The SLR Engineering software modules have been used on Intel, ARM and TI processors.
