The SLR Engineering pedestrian detector finds people based on their typical shape in videos and images. It can be used in single images, on PTZ camera images or even on mobile devices. Typical applications are pedestrian tracking, crowd density estimation, counting, or visual verification of detections with other sensors or processing methods.

The SLR Engineering pedestrian module can detect people in complex indoor and outdoor environments. There is practically no configuration necessary for setting up a camera. The basic pedestrian detector works on single frames and can therefore be used on IP cameras or video sources with a low framerate. The integration of this module with motion estimation, pattern recognition and sophisticated feature analysis enables the SLR pedestrian tracking module to track people in difficult environments - The camera need not even be static for successful tracking.
